Celebrating the life of

Pam D. Barrow

Passed away on December 26, 2025

Pam D. Barrow

Pamela Dyches Wilson Barrow, lovingly known as Pam and affectionately called “Honey,” passed away on Friday, December 26, 2025, in Savannah, Georgia, at the age of 77.

Pam was born on March 25, 1948, in Savannah to the late Pearl and James C. Wilson. She spent her life deeply rooted in family, friendship, and community. She graduated from Savannah High School in 1966 and soon after married Richard Barrow. Though later divorced, they remained close friends. Together, they were instrumental in the founding and running of the Coastal Transmission shops and raised three beautiful children: Deborah Barrow Kennedy, John Richard Barrow Jr., and Chad Edward Barrow.

Pam’s greatest joy and proudest role was being a mother and, later, a grandmother. She loved to tell people that the origin of her grandmother name meant honey or sweetness—a description that could not have been more fitting. Honey was the most endearing name for the most loving woman. She loved wholeheartedly, in which she was delighted in sharing her wisdom with her nine grandchildren: Ryleigh and Chase Kennedy, Hunter Kennedy Exley; Caroline, Jonathan, and Natalie Barrow; and Ella, Claudia, and Palmer Barrow. She loved them unconditionally, guided them gently, and had a special bond with each of them, for every moment spent with them.

Growing up in Savannah’s Ardsley Park neighborhood, Pam cherished sharing her childhood memories with her grandchildren—especially trips to the nearby playground and storytelling along the familiar streets she once called home.

Pam was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Jimmy, Frank, and Ernie Wilson; and her sister, Cynthia Wilson. She is survived by her daughter, Debbie Kennedy; son, Ricky Barrow; son, Chad Barrow, and his wife Jan; her nine grandchildren; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Known for her generosity and selflessness, Pam never sought attention for herself. Instead, she filled every room with warmth, laughter, and kindness. She was a constant presence in her family’s lives—attending every game and performance, serving as the family chauffeur, storyteller, cheerleader, and steady source of love.

Pam never met a stranger and found joy in conversation and connection. She treasured visits to the family farm, Cotton Top in South Carolina, where she loved picking blueberries, gathering pecans, and spending time with extended family. A night owl at heart, she enjoyed reading and playing solitaire late into the evening.

Pam’s gentle spirit and unwavering love will be deeply missed, but her legacy lives on through her family and all those whose lives she touched.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, January 3rd, at Cohens Retreat on Skidaway Road from 1–3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Pam's honor to American Heart Association or to Tunnel to Towers Foundation.

So saddened to hear of Pam's passing. I had just talked with her before Christmas, & was going to call her this week. I learned of her passing last night, Jan. 23rd. I knew her family well, & had dated Cynthia after college. Pam, Cynthia, & I had lunch together, not long before Cynthia passed, & had shared old memories. Ms. Pearl, you have all the family together, once more. I miss them all.
